That Wonderful Time of the Year
Christmas is that time of year
when love and joy and peace appear
to fill us with all kinds of cheer.
But the hustle and bustle approaching that day
sometimes takes the joys away.
It should be a time to contemplate
the days long past, and what’s our fate.
To think of all the folks we’ve known
and of our fav’rite childhood home.
Think of all the times of joy
when we were just a girl or boy.
Think of all the lives we’ve touched,
and those we miss, so very much.
Thinking of Christmas over the years
brings back joys, but also tears.
Relatives gathered all around
to see the sights, and hear the sounds.
Christmas presents, the Christmas tree
was so important to you and me.
We often forget our Christmas joy
was meant to honor that Baby Boy.
Let’s join the angels and shepherds this day.
Praise Jesus for coming, our souls to save.
Let’s give Him the honor and glory deserved,
And pray that those hurting, can hear His Word.

Luke 2:8-14 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of he heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace good will toward men. KJV
