5-1-17 Today’s Reflection
Luke 38:13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. 24 They were talking with each other about things which happened.
A Stranger at Emmaus; Poem/song.
There was sorrow on the road to Emmaus as the two of them were journeying that day.
A stranger walked with them and he talked with them. How could they not know he was the Lord?
For he spoke to them in ways that only he could know, they couldn’t comprehend how he loved them so.
.He caused their hearts to burn and made their souls to yearn for the peace that only Jesus could convey.

As they walked into the place called Emmaus, they asked Jesus to stay with them that night.
He told them he would stay, and later they would pray. He broke the bread and opened up their eyes.
He revealed to them he is our risen Savior! He had spent the day opening the Scriptures.
He calmed their ev’ry fear. And then He’d disappear and left peace that only Jesus could provide.

Many times as we travel our life’s journey, we ask Jesus if he’s really at our side.
We feel alone and blue and don’t know what to do. How could we not know that he’s our guide?
He tells us, “Low I am with you always, Even onto the end of the world.” He says.
It’s written in His Word and we have read and heard of the peace that only Jesus can provide.
The peace that only Jesus can provide!

Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him., “ Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have not seen and yet they have believed.”.

4-15-18-2017 Mark 15:16 The soldiers led Jesus away

The Passion of Christ

Each blow He received is what we deserve; each insult, each insult, each curse, each abuse.

The horrible things He endured strike a nerve-all of that torture He didn’t refuse.

He paid with His life for all of our sin, He willingly bore awful pain

All He asks in return is our love for Him; repent for our sin, Heaven is our gain.

From the cross to Heaven, our Council to be, presenting our case before God.

All of our sins erased on that tree by the shedding of His precious blood.

Take heart every soul with hearts filled with woe; He wants you to find relief.

All of your burdens He’ll help you let go ; accept, trust, and love Him –just believe.Happy Easter

They found His tomb open wide. Empty. He’s missing–they’re mortified.

Two men appeared in dazzling white. Angels? What a site!”You won’t find the living among the dead.

He’s living, He’s living just like He said.”

Those words resounded- still do today.”He’s risen- He’s resin this Easter Day this Easter Day!”

Christmas and Easter, proclaimed through each year.

Honored by Christians with song and prayer.

Christ’s  earthly birth, His return to Heaven.

The most wonderful prophecies ever given.

4-9-17 Today’s Reflection Matthew 21:1-17Jesus’ Triumphant Entry

1 As Jesus and the disciples approaches Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of them on ahead. “Go into the village over there.” He said, “As soon As you enter it, you’ll see a donkey tied there with its colt   beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone asks what you are doing, say ‘The Lord needs them.’ And he will immediately let you take them. This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said. “Tell the people of Jerusalem, Look, “Your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey- riding on a donkey’s colt” The two disciples did as Jesus commanded. They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt and he sat on it. Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people around him were shouting, “Praise God for the son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest Heaven!”

The entire city of Jerusalem was in an uproar as he entered. “Who is this?’ They asked. And the crowds replied,   “It’s Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Today’s Reflection- Romans 8: 1-4 Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness to be a sin offering of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live in the flesh but according to the Spirit. 3-17-17 Today’s Reflection: 17 At this, some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,” and “Because going to the Father?” 18They kept asking, What  does he mean by “A little while?” “We don’t understand what he is saying.”

19 Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are asking one another what I meant when I said, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me?

Jesus’   transfiguration

Today’s reflection; Luke 9:28-32 About eight days after Jesus said this, He took Peter, John and James with him and went up a mountain to pray. 30 As he was praying the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure which he was about bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32 Peter, and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

3-1-17 today’s Reflection Luke 9:22-27  Jesus said, “The son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”

23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the son of man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”27 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”

Today’ Reflection scripture Romans 12:16-20 16 live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry; feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Today’s NIV Bible Reflection Mark 10:13-16

13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them.  14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. i15 “Truly I tell you; anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will not enter it.” He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.”  16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

7 Today’ s reflection John 8:12 NIV

Once more Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

13 The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.”14 Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid; for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I came from or where I am going.  14 You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on one. 15 But if I do judge, my decisions are true because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me.17In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father who sent me.

Corinthians 3:12-17

12 Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if anyone h a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as one body you have been called to peace. And be thankful.16 Let the message of Christ dwell richly among you as you teach and admonish one another with hymns, psalms and songs from the spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

On the contrary, repay evil with blessing because for this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. 11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.” Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your heart revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that  you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 16 Keeping  a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
